Last December, I got the opportunity to ride shotgun in a Tesla Model S P85D. That thing was unreal, with 691 horsepower and a 0-60 time of 3.2 seconds.
What about you?

96 Honda Accord LX.
My aunt loved that thing.

did da vtak kick in yo?

Nothing too crazy. I got to ride/drive my buddy’s WRX with a tune. Unless you count the time I sat in a Bentley Continental GT at an autoshow.

A 1979 Camaro with a 427 out of a ‘69 Corvette. Sure, lots of cars are faster these days but they don’t do it with nearly as much pucker factor. The front end of that thing lifted enough to make the steering very spooky at speed.

I think the Tesla Model S P85D is also the fastest thing I’ve driven. I’m glad that my job gives the opportunity to drive a wide variety of cars. The P85D was probably the 30th tesla that I’ve driven (back in january). starting out it felt slightly different than a regular P85, until I had to mash the gas to beat a yellow light. My whole body got pinned to the seat! I was scared by the acceleration. I barely believed that I was even driving a P85D, because the car was just announced by tesla earlier that week.
Special recognition goes out to a mercedes CLK 55 AMG and C63 AMG. Those cars are fun, and they sound like god’s farts, but the Tesla is in a totally different league of quickness.

McLaren 12c. Track day at Brands Hatch a few years ago. Getting a go in the 650s soon aswell and for only £80.

I got to drive a V8 Audi R8 around a track back in October, that was fun.

2008 Lexus IS F.

Its because it’s electric. Electric motors have instant torque, so it feels
way
faster than an ICE car. Under acceleration, I felt the blood rush away from my feet.

I drove a Nissan GTR built for endurance racing with bigger turbos, huge tyres, race tune etc. Backwards. In a workshop. Still drove it though!
On a serious note, probably the Ferrari FF I was given a ride in at a Ferrari motorsport festival.

Either a turbocharged 635CSI, a Q50, or a cammed, full NA mods 1999 Mustang GT with PI conversion.

Drove a C6 ZR1. That thing is redonkulous

That’s exactly why. I get a similar sensation of speed from a Nissan Leaf, but the difference is the Model S actually is fast whereas the Leaf only feels fast for .5 of a second.

Aston Martin Rapide. Only for five minutes, but still epic.

Fastest thing I’ve driven: Ferrari California. Fastest I’ve ridden in: a buddies 600+ rwhp Lexus IS300. Fastest I’ve sat in: Ferrari F50: It was the first really crazy car I ever saw as a kid. And even though it was PMY, that car will always hold a special place in my automotive enthusiasm.

Might actually be a Boxster. DURR. Haven’t looked up a 91 Camaro or Mini Cooper S to see how they compare, but I’ve been in those too.

2013 Supercharged Range Rover Sport. 510 horsepower really motivated that monster. Drove it from St. Louis to Naples, FL and it was a blast. Torque for days. The thing pulled like you wouldn’t believe.

Either an Infiniti G35, or an Acura TL. I don’t know which one’s faster so...

does
have the vtak, sooo...

‘01-ish Ferrari 360 Moderna Spider. Black with weird rims. Not manual, but that didn’t keep the smile off my face the entire ride.

A current gen BMW 550i....I was in glee when the boost hit me. Next to that, my friend’s dad’s G35 and a Evo 10 (first time with boost)

Not sure, it’s between a Lotus Elise that felt crazy fast and a 600 wheel-horsepower supercharged 2010 Camaro I drove last year.

True, but the Infiniti has the eargasmic VQ.

I’ll call it a tie between a C6 Corvette and a 2010 CL550 M278 (wins with torque #)

2013 modified GT-R (600 AWHP running on E85).

Probably a Ford GT for a road car but Ive been in a couple of legit race cars and have sat in a bunch of old F1 cars

Probably a Hennessy tuned Ford GT. I think it had something like 700 hp or pretty close to it.
Absolutely ridiculous, but so awesome.

Same here, one of the guys at my C&C loves to take people out for a pull in his P85D. We went from 0-40 or 50-ish, then went through a roundabout at an impressive speed.

Potentially, the fastest car that I’ve driven was a Ferrari 456 when I was still working in the law courts.
One particular judge had had a rather merry afternoon at lunch and had rather a few too many verbs, and so I was given the task of delivering him and his motor, home. The problem with that is that I could only go as fast as the speed limits allow: 70km/h.
The fastest car I’ve actually been in though was an Opel Corsa C rental car which I took out on an autobahn. Even doing 183km/h and revving its wee little head off, I was still being passed by low flying loungerooms in the left lanes.

Shotgun in a buddy’s turbo mkIV R32 making 451hp at the wheels. That shit was INTENSE. I have never experienced anything like it. At full boost it was downright terrifying, I’ve never been shoved into the seat like that.

F430 Scuderia
Nissan GT-R
Porsche 911 Carrera S
All 3 belong to my friends dad and I drove them all briefly but rode in them quite a bit.

I’ve been in a decent amount of fast cars, but the brand new ‘06 ZO6 I got a ride in (neighbor was a test driver for GM) a while ago was probably the fastest.

I’ve ridden in my uncle’s 997 GT3 a few times, and it's such a pocket rocket. Super planted and not exactly slow accelerating either

3-way tie here. All 4.2 seconds to 60, but the fastest speed reached (not driving any of ‘em) was 110 in the F-Type.

My Dad had a 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SL that was pretty quick. But my Mom’s 300TD was comfortable going over a hundred mph from Atlanta to Birmingham, we were late getting going and didn’t want to miss kickoff at the bowl game.
I looked over at the speedometer, and it was way past 100, but the car felt like you were sitting in the living room. sweet!
They were both swell cars.

Fastest I’ve ever accelerated in was a Camry XSE.
Fastest I’ve ever driven was in a Honda CR-V.
I’m going to go ahead and say my TL is pretty fast.

I recently test drove a P85D. It was fantastic and scary. When I did the 0-60 test on a back road (with the saleswoman in the car), I could only think that speed wise, the car could go plaid.

Sat in?
Sat in the M4 at the Chicago Autoshow. That’s probably the fastest car I’ve sat in. Either that, or the Z/28 that was also at that show.
Driven, hands down the C63 AMG sedan I “test drove” at a CarMax. Still probably my favorite driving experience.
![]() 05/03/2015 at 23:10 |

Either a C63 AMG or an Aston Martin DBS - I’m actually not sure which is faster.
Alternatively, it could be argued that the World Formula kart I drove last week is quicker around a track than both!
![]() 05/03/2015 at 23:25 |

I think if we're talking acceleration, the P85D would be for me, but as far as around a track, probably a Viper ACR.

Driven a P85D, ridden in a McLaren 12C, Nissan GTR, and Porsche 997.2 Turbo S PDK; but above all the 12C felt the fastest. (Hopefully going the 12c soon :D)

Rode in a P1, that was something. I’ll never get the sounds that thing made out of my head.
Drove an SLR Mclaren, that was something scary. Mostly because the tires were old and it was slippery tarmac.

When I was young, my uncle had a 1st gen Firebird drag car. The fastest thing I have driven is a C7.
